Wilbar Components invests in new MecWash cleaning system

Even companies who already use MecWash aqueous cleaners accept they will have to update the systems they are using at some stage so they can continue to benefit from the very latest technology.

This was the case with Cannock-based Wilbar Components Ltd, a company that makes hydraulic couplings for the agricultural and mobile machine industry.

Wilbar already had a MecWash Mini system installed to ensure the parts it manufactured met the highest standards of cleanliness demanded by customers in the aerospace, automotive, medical and industrial sectors.

But now, as part of the company’s programme of continual investment, the decision has been taken to upgrade this old wash system to a new MecWash Solo to ensure it can continue to maintain these high standards and service the volume of parts being made.

Chris Marklew, Accounts Manager for Wilbar Components Ltd, said: “We have been pleased with the performance of our existing MecWash Mini system so, when it was time to upgrade, we were always going to opt for another MecWash product and the Solo fits the bill perfectly, meaning we can continue to provide the highest quality parts for our customers.”

MecWash Managing Director, John Pattison said: “As a company, we are continually striving to further improve our products and the Solo was the perfect choice for Wilbar Components when they wanted to upgrade their system. We have already supplied more than 200 Solo systems to customers around the world who have been delighted with the benefits it offers them.

“The Solo parts washer far outperforms traditional dunk washers, rotary basket and tunnel washers for cleanliness and effective drying. It effectively removes preservative oils, machining lubricants and metal swarf from machined components.

“The new Solo has been designed to satisfy the needs of inter-stage, in-cell and, in some cases, final machined component cleaning to high standards.

“It is supplied in three sizes, all of which provide rotational washing, a mist rinse and hot air drying in a very compact footprint, saving on valuable floor space. It is also fully enclosed so there is no steam or unpleasant vapours,” he added.
