MecWash Duo heading across the Atlantic for IMTS

Tewkesbury based aqueous parts washer specialist MecWash Systems Ltd is gearing up for its second appearance at the International Manufacturing Technology Show (IMTS) in Chicago as it seeks to further increase its growing share of the US component cleaning market.

The company first exhibited at IMTS – one of the largest industrial trade shows in the world – back in 2012. Since then, MecWash has significantly strengthened its presence in the US through the appointment of two distributors, Illinois-based Quality Machinery Systems & Minnesota-based Stone Machinery, along with MecWash’s own US based representative located in Ohio. MecWash is attending IMTS this September to further raise awareness of its products.

Managing director, John Pattison, says: “MecWash has exported to the USA for around 12 years, initially to existing UK customers opening new manufacturing facilities and duplicating processes and equipment which they were familiar with, but we are now keen to directly target US-based companies.

“Almost anyone who manufactures metal parts is a potential MecWash customer and our new distributors are really helping to ensure the high cleanliness standards that our machines can achieve is fast being recognised by some of the US’s leading names.

“I am delighted that we will again be attending IMTS and meeting more potential new customers as the US remains a significant opportunity for the company. When we last exhibited our appearance resulted in high sales volume and wider brand awareness and we are hoping for a repeat performance this year,” he added.

MecWash component cleaning systems are all bespoke builds, based on the customer’s individual requirements. The latest cleaning technologies, coupled with specialist chemicals formulated by MecWash in-house when required, enable customers to meet the demanding requirements of industries with stringent surface finish standards.

Pattison continues, “The bespoke nature of our products means trade shows are an excellent way of meeting potential customers face to face to explain the benefits of a MecWash system in person. We met with more than 100 prospective clients at the last IMTS we attended and are looking forward to an equally successful experience this year.”

MecWash will be demonstrating the Duo component cleaning system – which is one of the company’s best sellers - on Stand NC-432 at the show which runs from September 12 to 17 at McCormick Place.

The Duo provides immersion washing, spray washing, spray rinsing and hot air drying all in a single chamber with the components rotating about a horizontal axis. This high specification equipment typically includes bag or cartridge filtration, an oil separator, automatic chemical dosing and PLC / HMI controls and diagnostics.

Pattison added: “Show visitors regularly comment on the relatively small footprint of the Duo, the speed of the complete wash, rinse and drying cycle, and the variety of functions it has to offer. Duos are in daily operation for companies working in industries including aerospace, automotive, defence, hydraulics and general engineering around the world and we are sure it will be popular at IMTS.”

With a customer list that includes the likes of Rolls-Royce, JCB, Perkins, Delphi, TRW, UTC, Meggitt, Selex, Renishaw, SKF, Hydraforce and Parker, the outlook for MecWash is looking bright for 2016.
